Thanks to Daryl Fully Litt Burgess, wouldn't have survived this weekend without all your help, and great coaching.
Riley had a tough weekend when he hurt his back on Saturday and missed the last practice session. Sunday first heat he decided to have a go but could hardly keep the kart on the track. The medics confirmed nothing was broken and the 5 place penalty for exceeding the track limits just helped get him mad and get focused on doing the next heat. Heat 2 he drove amazing well after 2 red flags and a postponement and came in fifth. Heat 3 started on pole and after some great racing won that heat. So he had a fifth place start in the final. Just 5 hundredths off the fastest lap and finished 4th with some really good driving. On the whole an incredible effort given the condition of the poor lad!! Couldn't move this morning.. Thanks to everyone for help this weekend, much appreciated. Going to find a sports massage therapist and see if they can help him

Great weekend at PFi, first time racing there and only been twice in the last 6 months to practice, so wasn't expecting to put it on the front row in timed qualifying. Against some S1 boys who are regulars there too, so very pleased. If not embarrased by our very old chassis and peeling sticker kit!!
So no pressure for his first ever standing start then! Not ever even having seen any it was a challenge but Riley did well holding 3rd off the start. We suffered in the afternoon as the set up changed and with a lack of track knowledge I didn't quite get the setup right. Some frantic text messages to Connor Hall resulted in some sort of a set up (Sorry Connor didnt realise you were testing with Strawberry - whoops), and we managed to finish 6th out of a decent field at our first ever PFi race. Very Pleased with that. Now a very long journey home to Somerset. |
