Riley had won us weekend tickets to the Fast Car Festival at Donington. Moment of the day - seeing one of only 24 Aston Martin Vulcans in the world.  Non car related Moment of the weekend - Riley deciding he wants to do a degree ! We couldnt keep him away from the Staffordshire Uni staff who were promoting their Motorsport Engineering Degree (to be fair they were also with Lotus Race Team). The chance to work in a race team while studying and a guaranteed job at the end clinched the deal. Apparently they had trained the Haas F1 engineers before their entry this Season, so that was topical with our Haas visit coming up. There is also a partnership with Jay Shepherd and the Fun Cup. Whilton Mill Championship Round 7
Junior Max Nine karts may have rolled out onto the track to take the start, but there was only ever going to be two drivers who would contest for the victory and they would be Jordan Brown and Riley Phillips. Two drivers who have gone head to head on a number of occasions were about to battle once again. Brown led for the first six laps before Phillips made his move on lap seven. Brown felt happy to follow for the next eight laps, but on the penultimate lap he made the move on Phillips which turned out to be a race winning one with Phillips simply having no response. Ethan Haynes took 3rd after Spottiswood came off on the last lap which allowed Paige Holden to inherit 4th place. Lola just wanted a quiet morning karting.....  but her big brother was having none of it.... "hit that apex" "power down" "brake later". Needless to say she wasnt too pleased.  |
