Time in the kart is key. After getting to know the track you will be racing on, it is debatable whether practice should be time spent honing your lines at the same track or learning new skills at another track.

For us, we can only practice at Clay on Saturdays (during school term-time) when it is quite busy. It is also a 90 minute drive there and back. So, we have decided to practice at Thruxton which is open Saturday, Sundays and Bank Holidays and only 30 mins from home. Riley has more time in the kart this way and although a different track can practice overtaking and get confident with his kart.
